Seed of Resistance
Food sovereignty is one of the most urgent calls to action in Afrika, and in order to achieve Afrikan Liberation, we need to be free to grow, save, plant and share our own food without permission from corporations or colonial systems of control. When we lose our seeds, we lose our history, memory and future.
Following the thread of our Afrika Day discussion, Restoring Afrikan Indigenous Food Systems for Reclamation of Our Humanity, where we built a living archive of taste, storytelling, memory, and resistance around seeds, Liberatory Conversation – Seed of Resistance explored three dimensions of seed in the South Afrikan struggle for food sovereignty.
